MIDDLE KINGDOM, DYNASTY XI-XIV, 2040-1640 B.C.
Naturalistically depicted, with the layered feathers carved in rows along the body, the tail fanned, the neck curved back with the head facing forward, with long tapering beak and circular pellet eyes, traces of black, white and red paint preserved throughout, a mortise on the underside for attachment
