TWO SUMERIAN LIMESTONE CUPS
CIRCA 3100-2900 B.C.
Each conical in form on a small flat base, one originally in multiple registers, the lower register preserved, sculpted in high relief with two lions symmetrically arranged back-to-back, with their forepaws on the haunches of partially-preserved bulls, beading below; and one sculpted with four bulls in right profile, their heads facing out, with rosettes in the field, beading below, the rim rounded; together with an Urartian bronze belt fragment, circa late 8th-early 7th century B.C., preserving a panel with a deity mounted atop a lion, within an elaborate border of lotus-bud chain
