A MESOPOTAMIAN BLACK STONE SHEEP
CIRCA LATE 3RD-EARLY 2ND MILLENNIUM B.C.
Reclining with its legs folded under, the short tail curving to the left, the eyes inlaid in white limestone, ridged brows above, the ears flopping forward, ornamented throughout with circular inlays, some preserved in pink limestone, a rectangular mortice in the center of the back with a perforation on either side
