Prospective buyers should be aware that the import… Read more EXPLORER II The Explorer II, reference 1655 was first introduced in the early 1970s. The model features a fourth arrowhead hand that rotates once every 24 hours, as does the GMT-Master model. Though unlike the GMT-Master, the Explorer II has a fixed bezel engraved with hour markers. This model was specifically marketed to spelunkers and cave explorers, who could easily lose the difference between diurnal and nocturnal hours. Two styles of this model were produced, the former with an orange hands, and the latter with a red hand produced until 1985. The very first of the red hand Explorer II had unusual red enamelling on the bezel rather than black. These models also had white dials with tritium dots and hand outlined in white gold, white later examples possessed hands outlined in black.
