Lot Essay

The original design for this service dates from 1928 and was manufactured by Kristalunie Maastricht. In 1970 Leerdam re-produced the service for the World Exhibition in Osaka, Japan. Due to technical diffuculties during the production process, the design was adapted by Piet Zwart. The original service has a 'flower' cut at the underside of the bowl
