1966: A 4 Star Vintage
One of my favorite vintages which I have always described as a 'lean, long-distance runner'. Growing conditions: early flowering, cool and fairly dry summer but a very hot, sunny ripening September, with the harvest starting in good conditions on 6 October.

As with the 1964 vintage, I have several hundred notes on well over 200 chateaux so the following in just the tip of the iceberg. Hardly surprisingly, as well over 35 years old, many of the minor wines are well past their best and not the kind that remain long on the shelves or in the cellars. MB Vintage Wine
