CHINA, QING DYNASTY, KANGXI SIX-CHARACTER MARK AND OF THE PERIOD (1662-1722)

Lot Essay

The present dish is a superb example for its strong coloration and controlled use of the blue ground.
A Kangxi dish of this pattern is illustrated in the Tokyo National Museum Catalogue, Japan 1965, no.615; one from the Yokogawa Collection, also in the Tokyo National Museum, is illustrated in Toki Zenshu, no.16, pl.16.
