Lot Essay

Cosimo Fancelli was a sculptor who studied under Gian Lorenzo Bernini. He collaborated with Bernini on several projects, most notably The Angel with the Sudarium, one of the ten angels holding the Instruments of the Passion on the Ponte Sant'Angelo, Rome.
