Lot Essay

This lit de repos, stamped 'CHAPUIS' was either executed by the Parisian ébéniste Claude Chapuis (active from 1797 until at least 1818) or by his Brussels counterpart Jean-Joseph Chapuis (1765-1864). Both employed a stamp without their initials, which complicates attribution.
