Decorated in bright coloured enamels and gilt on a yellow reserve, with roundels of phoenix, surrounded by bats at various stages in flight holding Buddhist emblems in their mouths amidst scattered cloud scrolls, beneath a band of confronting stylised dragons and above scrolling waves issuing rockwork and further Buddhist emblems, the underside with drilled underglaze blue Qianlong sealmark
