CIRCA 1725, BLUE .K.P.M. AND CROSSED SWORDS MARK, GILDER'S 52. MARK TO BOTH, THE CONTEMPORARY AUGSBURG MOUNTS WITH MARK Of ELIAS ADAM
Painted by P.E. Schindler, the box of squat oval bombé form, each side with Orientals on terraces within elongated shaped quatrefoil gilt cartouches with Böttger-lustre panels edged with gilt, red and brown scrolls, the ends with indianische Blumen, the domed cover with two similar chinoiserie vignettes within a gilt Laub-und-Bandelwerk border, with broad gilt borders and a hinged mount chased with stiff-leaf ornament (some slight wear to gilding, minute chip to footrim)
