A Japanese gold lacquer kodansu, 19th Century
decorated in hiramakie, takamakie, kirikane and kirigane with scenes of pavilions by riverbanks, amongst pine trees, prunus and rockwork, the door panels each with a gilt metal kanji character, the doors opening to reveal four fitted draws and further decorated panels - 5 3/8in. (13.7cm) wide.
