A Chinese white and russet jade two-handled cup, 18th century
the deep cup with a slightly flaring rim flanked by two handles, each carved as a chilong with a bifurcated tail holding onto the rim with its jaws, supported on a slightly spreading foot with a raised band above the footrim, the sides carved in low relief with two pairs of sinuous chilongs reserved on incised archaistic leiwen ground above islands emerging from the water, the stone of white tone with several russet streaks -- 4¼in. (10.7cm.) wide.
