A North European miniature engraved gilt-brass weight-driven striking wall clock
BF. Early 17th Century
The case with spike finial above cupola raised on a balustraded gallery, with further spike finials to the corners below, the side doors with engraved rings, the dial engraved with stylised fruit to the lower corners and with a vase of flowers to the centre of the main Roman chapter ring, with flowerhead design to the quarter hour ring below, signed BF at the top corners, the short duration steel and brass movement of posted frame construction, with back-to-back trains, four spoke brass wheelwork, verge and steel balance escapement, with countwheel strike on bell above; four brass weights (later)
