A set of six Chinese famille rose octagonal 'cockerel' plates and a famille rose bowl
18th Century
The plates enamelled with a rooster perched on rockwork among peony surrounded by pomegranate panels enclosing flowers on a whorl-pattern ground, 17.2 cm. diam.; and a bowl painted to the interior with a spray of peony and foliage, the exterior with two flower sprays beneath a shaped whorl-pattern border at the rim, 25.7 cm. diam., damages and repair (7)
