A VICTORIAN SILVER-MOUNTED CUT GLASS TRAVELLING DRESSING TABLE SET,
MARK OF JAMES VICKERY, LONDON, 1855,
Contained in a brass-bound coromandel box lined in blue velvet, the top layer with 15 silver-mounted bottles & boxes (2 of the small boxes are leather rather than glass), a pull-out drawer in front & a drop-down section at front containing a silver medicine spoon by Thomas Johnson, London, 1855, a carved mother-o'pearl shoe-horn, a similar hand-mirror, a silver-mounted mother-o'-pearl dip pen by Butler & Co, a silver propelling pencil by Sampson Mordan & Co., a small unmarked silver seal, a similar needle case, a similar pencil-lead container, a pair of steel scissors & 4 other mother-o'pearl handled fitings. The silver mounts all engraved with foliate scrollwork & monogrammed.
