Lot Essay

Barberi devoted his career to the design of interiors and architectural decorations. The Cooper-Hewitt Museum, New York and the Museo di Roma own the largest holdings of his oeuvre. A drawing similar in style, with similar coffered ceiling, was sold at Christie's, Paris, 27 November 2002, lot 102.
