This drawing was once in the collection of Neville D. Goldsmid, an English businessman who lived in the Hague and amassed an exceptional collection of seventeenth century Flemish and Dutch paintings which included works by Nicolas Maes, Frans Hals, Jan Steen, Cornelis Dusart, Gerard Dou and other Northern masters.
