Lot Essay

In 1731 Richard Child, 3rd Baronet, was created Earl Tylney. His father, Josiah Child, had been a governor of the East India Company in the 17th century. See D.S. Howard, Chinese Armorial Porcleain, vol. 1, p. 393.
