A LOUIS XIV WALNUT AND EBONISED CENTRE TABLE
LATE 17TH EARLY 18TH CENTURY
The rectangular canted top with gilt-tooled brown leather-lined writing-surface above a frieze drawer with compartments, on ring-turned baluster legs joined by a H-shaped stretcher, on bun feet, the reverese of the drawer inscribed in black ink, 'le 1er Janvier 1909 j'ai donnais à ma fille Sophie Gonet la presente table Louis Gonet', and in pencil '96', the frieze drawer probably added in the 19th century
