The attribution has been kindly proposed by Drs A.C.A.W. van der Feltz in a letter of 11 September 1996, who compares it with the portrait of Dorothea Henriëtte Maria Louise de Pagniet (1751-1836) with her son in the collection of Mrs. J.L.A. Clifford Kocq van Breugel, Barones van Nagell (for which see A.C.A.W. van der Feltz, Charles Howard Hodges, 1982, p.338, no.P.20, with ill.).
