A sterling silver presentation cup
Mark of Edward, Edward junior, John and William Barnard, London, 1832
in the form of a loving cup with circular pedestal foot chased with grapes and grape leaves rising up to a decorated collar supporting the lower body which is chased with a floral and acanthus motif, with two handles chased with acanthus, the interior with gold wash, and inscribed 'Presented to/Captn. John P. Smith/of the/SHIP NAPOLEON/by his passengers/9. Augt. 1832.', with hallmarks on the back.
