an ebony frame with inlaid ivory scales divided in 5o intervals from -5o to 135o, a brass arm with thumb screw adjuster, maker's plate on the crossbar, with three brass feet, three and four filters/shades, pin hole sight with two additional sighting lenses, all in a mahogany keystone box. On the inside cover of the box is a label from H. Duren - Nautical Instrument Manufacturer, New York.
