LATE 19TH AND EARLY 20TH CENTURY
Comprising; an Austrian rock crystal and aluminium mounted bamboo gadget cane, the handle unscrewing to reveal a glass phial; a fruitwood cane with carved handle modelled a nesting bird, revealing a clay pipe; another briar cane with handle adapting into a pipe bowl and stem concealed in shaft; a silver and leather mounted bamboo cane, the crook handle with sliding cover with a striker for matches, the cavity possibly for matches or cigarettes
The first -- 35½in. (90.2cm.) long
Together with a Japanese bamboo gadget cane, engraved with apes to the shaft, concealing a fishing rod, lacking ferrule; and a Japanese ivory mounted lacquered case, circa 1900, with incised decoration, the ball knop grip unscrewing to reveal a secondary walking stick (6)
