standing four-square on a rectangular plinth, the head raised and facing forward, the ears projecting below the long curved horns, its back with a latticework of straps with circular bosses and suspended lappet terminals, red, cream and black pigments

Lot Essay

The result of thermoluminescence test, Oxford C107y32 is consistent with the dating of this lot. However, the sample taken under the head whilst consistent with the suggested period, had different TL properties.
