No.1688. Circa 1880
The corniche style case with porcelain side panels painted with floral baskets with gilt-heightened and jewelled borders on a Sèvres style turquoise blue ground, with plain gilt rear door, the conforming dial painted with a scene of two lovers below a gilt chapter ring with individual Roman reserves divided by red jewels and red and white flowerhead jewels, the centre painted with a flying Cupid, blued steel spade hands, the twin barrels movement with anchor escapement with Brocot regulation, strike on bell to back plate numbered 1688; pendulum
