The unusual tall medieval revival case with cluster columns to each angle, all surmounted by courtly figures in niches, with foliate cast base and handles centred by a grotesque mask, engraved frames to front and rear doors, the white enamel Roman dial with subsidiary alarm ring and blued steel Breguet hands, the twin barrels movement raised on supporting plates, foliate engraved gilt platform to duplex escapement with bimetallic balance, strike/repeat/alarm on bell to back plate stamped I
