A George II walnut musical eight day longcase clock

The stepped and moulded caddy top with ball and spire brass finials to the front angles, pierced frets to the break arch and brass capped spiral twist columns, the side panels with later hinged glazed frames, concave throat mouldings above the break arch trunk door with moulded frame, the plinth with ebony and satinwood inlaid panel and supported on moulded double skirt, the 13 in. wide brass dial with Roman and Arabic engraved and silvered chapter ring with fleur-de-lys half hour markers, blued steel hands and centre seconds, the matted centre with engraving around the date square and subsidiary ring for STRIKE/SILENT, the arch with blued steel pointer and music selection (100 Psalm/Butter'd Pease/Heeland Laddy/Tweed Sides/O What Pain It Is To Part/Deal Take Ye Wars/Bush Of Boon Traquare/Lafs Of Pattie's Mill/Ore The Hills Far Away/Trip To The Landry/Valiant Jockey/Bright Oriela) and signed on an arched engraved and silvered plaque John Robinson Westminster, the three train movement with shouldered plates, six ring turned pillars, later dead beat escapement, striking the hours on a single bell and with music on a nest of 12 bells via a 10½ in wide pinned barrel with later side-mounted vaned fly; later pendulum, three weights, case key
