Two Swatow blue and white deep dishes,
16/17th Century
One painted at the centre with a prancing fo-dog with his head and tail in the air, below two clusters of plants at the well and a diaper-pattern band encircling the rim (rim chip and crack), 41cm. diam.; and a deep dish decorated with two intertwined phoenixes perched on rockwork below a bird and pine, the diaper- and wave-pattern border reserved with eight quatrefoil cartouches (rim chips, restored), 40cm. diam.
