A large Japanese Imari baluster jar and cover,

Painted in underglaze blue, iron-red, green and gilt with three fan-shaped panels enclosing alternately bamboo and plum-blosson with birds and flowering chrysanthemum, the sloping shoulder with a large band of squirrels climbing through grapevine, the straight neck encircled by a stylized band of chrysanthemum (cover broken)
