Château Prieuré-Lichine--Vintage 1986
Cantenac (Margaux), 4me cru classé
Levels: into neck
In original wooden case
"The thirty-fifth vintage of Alexis Lichine's beloved chateau should ultimately turn out to be one of the best wines he produced. In fact, the fragrance and elegance may, in 5 to 6 years, entitle it to an even better rating. With the exception of the 1989, it is the most concentrated Prieure made in the eighties, and one would have to go back to the lovely 1978 or 1971 to find a Prieure with such class and grace. Medium to dark ruby in color, with a very seductive, moderately intense bouquet of plummy fruit and sweet, toasty oak, this surprisingly supple, yet still structured wine has good length and aging potential." Robert Parker, Bordeaux Book 3rd Edition (Jan 1998)
