Of rounded oblong form, the hinged cover finely-engraved with a city-scape of Amsterdam, numerous sailing ships in the foreground, with legend: Amsterdam uyt het IJ aan te Zee, the box also engraved with floral and foliate friezes, the base with a floral spray
