A small lacquer box with interior tray, metal inlay attributed to Goto Mitsutaka, rectangular with rounded corners decorated on the lid with a gilt metal dragon sword of Fudo Myo-o against a red flame in red takamaki-e flanked by the attendants Kongara and Seitaka standing on wave-splashed rocks against a ground of takamaki-e lotus leaves, gold and silver kirigane and dense nashiji, repeated on the exterior with further bands of waves; the interior with the Sanscrit syllable for Fudo in a gold lacquer medallion set on a lotus platform and emitting celestial rays, the ground matching kirigane and nashiji; the underside of the tray and the interior of box and base dense nashiji
