A Wakizashi in Black-Lacquer Ribbed Koshirae
Muromachi period (16th century), inscribed Bishu Osafune ju Katsumitsu
Honzukuri, iori-mune, torii-zori, chu-gissaki with itame hada and suguha hamon, tang ubu with one hole, 17¾in. (45.2cm.) long; koshirae comprising a black-lacquer ribbed saya, iron mokko tsuba with a gold rim and dragons carved in high-relief, inscribed Goto Mitsuharu and with kao, fuchi-gashira designed with insects in iroe taka-zogan, inscribed Umetada, 19th century
