A mahogany veneered and silver-mounted rectangular casket with silver hinges, lock-plates and scroll handle containing two oval caddies and a circular sugar bowl with cover, twelve tea spoons and pair of tongs
Maker's mark of Samuel Taylor, London, 1748, the tongs 18th century and the spoons by Gibson & Langman, London, 1889
The tea caddies and sugar bowl possibly later chased and engraved with flowerheads and leafage amongst scrolls, centered by an engraved crest and device, possibly that of General Sir Thomas Reid, the covers with scroll and flame finial
