A SMALL CIZHOU PAINTED JAR
JIN/YUAN DYNASTY (1115-1368)
The tapering sides painted in brown on a white slip under a clear glaze with three deft brushstrokes between double line borders, the interior covered with a dark brown glaze with paler brown haze that continues over the rim; together with a Cizhou-type brown-glazed jar, Song/Jin dynasty, with a pair of loop handles on the high shoulder, covered inside and out with a dark brown glaze stopping short of the flat base with beveled edge exposing the fine ware
