CIRCA 1740, BLUE CROSSED SWORDS MARKS, PRESSNUMMER 2 TO SAUCERS
After a design by Johann Gregorius Höroldt, each piece painted with an exotic bird with a long blue tail perched on a puce branch issuing from stylised rocks and with branches of flowering peony and chrysanthemum, brown line rims (one saucer with minute rim chip and glaze flake, very minor wear to enamels of saucers and rims) (2)

Specialist note

A sugar-bowl and cover decorated with similar birds and rockwork, but with an iron-red foliate border, was sold in these Rooms on 11th December 2007, lot 62.
