Lot Essay

It is purported that Muhammad Ibn Jaffa (1870-1910) was the father of Abul Kasim Kirmani, another highly regarded Kirmani weaver associated with some of the finest weavings. Another work by Muhammed Ibn Jaffa but woven from a different cartoon, was sold in these Rooms, 22 April, 1999, lot 51.
