The oval plate in a moulded frame surrounded by a further plate with interlaced vines, surrounded by shaped plates centred by a confronted C-scroll surmounted by a segmental pediment cresting wreathed with flowerheads, the reverse with paper label inscribed 'Drab(?) room', regilt, the plates replaced, one border plate cracked, some mouldings replaced, the central plate possibly original

A similar rococo giltwood overmantel mirror formerly in the collection of Lavinia, Duchess of Norfolk (1916-1995), Arundel Park, Sussex (see J. Martin Robinson, 'Arundel Park, Sussex: The House of the Late Lavinia, Duchess of Norfolk', Country Life, 20 June 1996, p. 63, fig. 7), was sold anonymously, Sotheby's London, 15 November 1996, lot 45 (£43,300).
