Of rococo scroll outline incorporating cartouches painted with rustic figures in the style of Teniers between applied flower sprays and chaffinches, kingfishers and canaries perched in branches applied to either side, with scnatily draped putti, the upper and lower parts with figures emblematic of Fame, on an ebonised shaped support, the plate later

Lot Essay

With its bold decorative scheme of birds, flowerheads, and putti allegorical of Fame, this impressive flower-encrusted mirror of monumental proportion is symbolic of the enduring appeal for Dresden rococo porcelain models, revived in the second half of the 19th Century.
