Applied with cut-out decoration incorporating portrait medallions of Tsar Nicholas I (1825-1855) and his consort, Princess Charlotte of Russia, who took the name Alexandra Feodorovna on conversion to Orthodoxy, within decorative cartouches surmounted by crowns and imperial double-headed eagles beneath, flanked by classical women holding cornucopia, gilt interior
