A PAIR OF GREEK ISLAND EMBROIDERED PANELS DODECANESE, 18TH CENTURY
each plain linen panel tapering towards the top embroidered in thick red and green silk floss silks with alternating coloured columns of stylised angular floral sprays divided by thin columns of leaf-motifs, in a border of similar smaller floral sprays, slight damage 108½in. (275cm.) long
Provenance
Purchased on his honeymoon by Julius Drewe, found of the Home and
Colonial Stores, on Grand Tour in 1890, thence by descent.
