5 volumes, 8° (212 x 128mm). One folding engraved map. (Variable slight browning and spotting throughout.) Contemporary half calf, marbled edges (label missing from vol. II, spines repaired, joints cracking and extremities lightly worn, some corners bumped). Second edition of Marshall's pioneer study of farming on a regional basis. According to ABPC, only one copy of the present work has sold at auction since 1975.

(Occasional light spotting and soling.) Contemporary calf-backed boards (extremities rubbed, head and tail caps defective). FIRST EDITIONS. Grundy inherited his father's position as 'surveyor and agent' (engineer) of Deeping Fen, a large tract of fenland in Lincolnshire. His important work on the Witham resulted in a new 9 mile channel for the river and the Grand Sluice at Boston. With 2 other volumes by John Loudon McAdam and William Taplin. (9)
