Contemporary calf, gilt spines with red and black morocco labels and FFF stamp at foot (spines rubbed, lacking two vol. labels.) Provenance: Francis Ferrand Foljambe (binding). FIRST EDITION of Smollet's only epistolary novel, arguably his greatest work. Ashley V, 185; Rothschild 1910.
