Lot Essay

Dr. Hella Robels, in letters dated 21 September 1990 and 7 August 1997, suggested an attribution to Jan Fyt on the basis of two drawings of dogs in the Städelsches Kunstinstitut, Frankfurt, and the Musée des Beaux-Art et d'Archéologie, Besançon (see H. Robels, Frans Snyders, Munich, 1989, p. 508, nos. AZ 94 and 95).
