Decorated a frutti with a broad band of coloured fruit and scrolling foliage between horizontal green and blue bands and blue hatching (broken through and repaired, small rim chip)

Lot Essay

A jar of related design is illustrated by Rudolf Drey, Apothecary Jars (London, 1978), p. 63, no. 24a. A jar of slightly different type with the inclusion of a bird in the decoration is discussed and illustrated by Julia Poole, Italian maiolica and incised slipware in the Fitzwilliam Museum (Cambridge, 1995), p. 413, no. 444.
