A CALABRIAN CYLINDRICAL DRUG-JAR

With a short flared neck and rounded shoulder, decorated in the Venetian manner with two yellow and ochre-ground medallions loosely painted with a helmeted soldier and a youth, against a blue ground with sgraffito white scrolls and coloured scrolling foliage (deep glaze crazing to lower part and lesser crazing overall, minor chipping to rims and associated glaze flaking)
11¾ in. (29.8 cm.) high
