A LATE LOUIS XVI ORMOLU AND WHITE MARBLE PORTICO CLOCK
LATE 18TH CENTURY
With a spread-winged eagle finial above knopped finial trailing grapevines above a circular clock face with a white enamel Roman dial with ormolu hands, the eight day movement with twin barrels, anchor escapement with silk suspension and countwheel strike on bell below an applied drapery swag and a sunburst pendulum, flanked by fully sculpted Classical figures on fluted columns mounted with husks and waterleaves, on a reverse breakfronted plinth with applied panels of putti, on bun feet
