A MEISSEN YELLOW-GROUND TEAPOT AND COVER AND YELLOW-GROUND HOT-MILK JUG
The teapot circa 1735; the hot-milk jug circa 1740, each with a blue crossed swords mark, painter's R in puce to the jug
The bullet shape teapot with wishbone handle, dragon spout, and pinecone finial enriched in gilt, painted on one side with a winter scene of ice skaters and a sledge, the other with travelers in a landscape, reserved within a quatrefoil cartouche edged in black, the rich yellow ground further reserved and painted on either side of the handle and spout with indianische Blumen, the cover similarly decorated and secured to the pot with a contemporary silver chain; the hot-milk jug painted with holschnitt Blumen within similarly shaped cartouches
