Lot Essay

The centrepiece was executed in three different metals: brass, alpaca and silver. The brass example may be the earliest version, produced from 1925 to 1931. The Wiener Werkstätte price list of August 1928 cites the brass model on page 405 at a cost of 105 schilling (18.75 USD). The model was exhibited at the Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs, Paris, 1925.
